Crosstown Loveletter

Kissel Hotel at 421 25th St, Oakland, CA · 2022

This 72 panel glass artwork is inspired by the Art Deco style and architecture prevalent throughout Oakland.  Much of the line-work and color is influenced by the design inside the Paramount Theater and the tile work of many buildings in Oakland, such as the I. Magnin Building. The work is titled "Crosstown Loveletter" because it is a love-letter to a Jet Martinez mural, "There's More to Green Than Money" located across town. The title plays on the concept of giant murals and public artworks calling out to one another over the hustle and bustle of the City.
